The NUTRI-CHECK NETwork to maximise site-specific precision in managing the nutrition of European arable crops

About the innovation / research
The NUTRI-CHECK NET project identified crop nutrition recommendation systems, research results, commercial tools and services used across Europe. An evaluation and prioritisation system was developed, through which at least 50 tools were selected for practical assessment on farms. Farmers and advisers evaluated the suitability of the tools based on ease of use, reliability, costs and benefits. The project’s three-step methodology, “Plan – Check & Adjust – Review”, helps farmers select appropriate solutions, assess their effectiveness during the growing season and adjust crop nutrition where necessary. In Lithuania, different nutrient management approaches were evaluated on 11 farms. The project results are brought together in the NUTRI-CHECK NET platform and a set of 20 selected best practices.
