Project goals
To evaluate the possibilities of using the new hydro-thermodynamic feed processing technology in cattle farms, processing local bean protein feed, without reducing the intensity of production and without increasing the amount of greenhouse gas emissions

Target group
Livestock farms (especially cattle farms), agricultural advisors, feed producers, and research institutions aiming to improve feed efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance the use of local protein feed resources.

Detailed summary
After the completion of the project, the possibilities of using hydro-thermodynamic feed processing technology in livestock farms will be evaluated, using local bean protein feed. Physical feed processing improves the digestibility of feed and the amount of methane emitted by ruminants, and beans are one of the main agricultural crops with perhaps the highest feed value. The knowledge and innovations obtained during the implementation of the project's goals and objectives will be transferred to economic entities of all regions engaged in animal husbandry, by publishing them in the press and introducing the achieved results during the project's dissemination events. Only research-based advanced technologies for fodder production and their use for feeding can be expected not only to increase animal productivity, but also to mitigate the emission of greenhouse gases in animal husbandry. Also, since fodder beans grown in Lithuania will be used as a research factor during the project, it can be stated that technological solutions will improve and complement fodder production technologies, the application of which in farmers' farms will provide the following public and additional benefits - reduce GHG emissions, improve quantitative and qualitative production indicators, encourage the use of local production and the results of the project will be able to be used by other economic entities. Therefore, the benefits of applying new feeding technologies are twofold: - direct financial benefits for farmers; - economic (environmental, social) benefits for society as a whole. After the research, using hydro's thermodynamic feed processing technology, recommendations will be prepared and presented during the seminars.
