Detailed summary
The aim of the project is to demonstrate on-farm production of healthier, safer cows, goats and sheep’s dairy products and bakery products using innovative biotechnological solutions, with at least 3 new recipes for each partner’s farm. This will lead to higher added value products with health and nutrition claims, longer shelf-life and smarter production processes. The project’s findings show that the European Innovation Partnership Operational Group, in collaboration with scientists and consultants, is implementing sustainable and innovative technologies in agriculture in Lithuania. The main objective is to demonstrate on farms the production of products that are more healthfriendly by using biotechnological solutions, which include fermentation and the processing of local raw materials. This is likely to contribute to climate change mitigation, the competitiveness of small and medium-sized farms and the development of a healthier food mix. The project also strengthens the principles of the circular economy and reduces environmental pollution. The development of new product formulations and technologies will stimulate innovation in agriculture and rural development, and their introduction on farms will generate economic benefits and encourage young farmers’ participation in the sector.
