Project goals
Integrating various legume grass mixtures into meadows and pastures using drones to increase their biodiversity and forage value.
Target group
Small and medium-sized crop-livestock farms facing the challenges of renovating infertile, unproductive, low-forage value meadows and pastures.
Detailed summary
The project is likely to address feed quality, biodiversity loss and inefficient grazing, which are specific to grasslands that are difficult to maintain. An innovative approach to the integration of beans through drone technologies will ensure accurate sowing. Meanwhile, the selection of seeds based on local flora and their treatment with biological polymers and growth promoters will improve germination and the efficiency of treatment with biological polymers and growth promoters will improve germination and the efficiency of establishment. This approach is expected to increase the feed value of crushed grasslands, improve the
stability of ecosystems and contribute to restoring soil sustainability. Project results can reduce
dependence on chemical fertilisers, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote carbon sequestration. In
addition, the deployment of innovative technologies will strengthen farms’ climate resilience, productivity
and competitiveness, contributing to the implementation of EU biodiversity and sustainable farming
strategies.
